There was a small surprise in Northbridge where seventh ranked Redbacks (7-5) defeated one of their biggest challengers Wanneroo (7-5) 100-87 on Friday. Redbacks shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 51.7 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Swingman Tevin Jackson (202-94, college: McNeese St.) fired a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Louis Timms (206-91, college: WBU) chipped in 18 points and 8 rebounds. Four Redbacks players scored in double figures. American guard Jonathan Wade (196-93, college: Norfolk St.) produced 17 points and 9 rebounds and guard Lochlan Cummings (189-95, college: HIU) added 19 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Redbacks moved-up to fifth place in League. Redbacks will meet at home Buccaneers (#11) in the next round where they are favorite. Wanneroo will play against Flames (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
