A very close game took place in Willetton between Tigers and Magic. Third ranked Tigers (9-1) got a very close home victory over 8th ranked Magic (6-6). Tigers managed to escape with a 3-point win 94-91 on Saturday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Tigers looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Guard Damien Scott (192-92) fired 31 points and 4 assists for the winners. Naturalized Scottish power forward Michael Vigor (206-90) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points, 14 rebounds and 7 assists. Tigers' coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Brazilian-American guard Scott Machado (186-90, college: Iona) produced 31 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists and guard Jerami Grace (190-94, college: Langston) added 21 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Tigers maintains third position in League with 9-1 record behind leader Perry Lakes H. Loser Magic keeps the eighth place with six games lost. Tigers will meet at home Senators (#7) in the next round. Magic will play against Giants in Kalgoorlie and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
