Not a big story in a game in Hamilton Hill where 13th ranked Cougars (3-9) were defeated by second ranked Hawks (10-2) 89-71 on Saturday. Hawks looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Guard Mitchell Clarke (185-99) fired 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Center Andrew Ferguson (213-98, college: CS Monterey) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. Naturalized Greek swingman Nic Pozoglou (196-96) produced 15 points and 5 rebounds and swingman Gavin Field (202-89, college: UWG) added 9 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hawks keep a position of League leader. Loser Cougars dropped to the twelfth place with nine games lost. Hawks will meet at home Redbacks (#5) in the next round. Cougars will play against Buccaneers (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
