Regular Season Round 21: SC Phoenix - Mackay M. 62-83

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Sunshine CP (6-2) against fifth ranked Meteorettes (6-1) on Saturday night. Host Sunshine CP was crushed by Meteorettes in Cotton Tree 83-62. Meteorettes players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was a good game for the former international center Cayla George (192-89) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 30 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Chelsea Brook (188-98) contributed with 19 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Amy Browne (178-90) answered with 17 points and 7 rebounds and guard Caitlin Clancy (180-95, college: Northwest JC) added 12 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Sunshine CP. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Meteorettes moved-up to third place in League. Sunshine CP at the other side dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. Meteorettes will play against Rip City (#8) in Sippy Downs in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Sunshine CP will have a break next round.
