The game between closely ranked teams ended with eighth ranked Magic's (6-6) road victory over 9th ranked Giants (4-8) in Kalgoorlie 99-89 on Saturday. Magic made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Brazilian-American guard Scott Machado (186-90, college: Iona) nailed a double-double by scoring 18 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists for the winning side and guard Jerami Grace (190-94, college: Langston) accounted for 24 points and 7 rebounds. Magic's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Forward Fletcher Klasztorny (200-98, college: N.Dakota St.) came up with 18 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals and forward Tom Atkinson (198-98) added 19 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Giants in the defeat. Four Magic and five Giants players scored in double figures. Magic maintains eighth place in League with 6-6 record. Loser Giants dropped to the tenth position with eight games lost. Magic will meet league's leader Hawks in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Giants will play against Flames (#4) in Rockingham and hope to secure a win.
