Very important is a home loss of second ranked Devils (8-3) against sixth ranked Cavaliers (6-5) on Saturday night. Host Devils were crushed by Cavaliers in Werribee 94-71. Naturalized British swingman Matthew Donlan (200-93, college: YSU) stepped up and scored 25 points for the winners and American point guard Anthony Williams (178-95, college: Clark Atlanta) chipped in 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Williams is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Cavaliers players scored in double figures. New Zealand forward Brandon Watkins (198, college: Mars Hill) responded with 13 points and 7 rebounds and Cameron Hutton scored 10 points and 4 assists. Devils' coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Cavaliers maintains sixth place in League with 6-5 record. Devils at the other side keep the second position with three games lost. Cavaliers will play against league's leader Thunder in Melbourne in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Devils will play at home against Cougars and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
