There was a surprise result when eighth ranked Magic (3-6) won against 4th placed Cougars (6-4) in McKinnon 106-102 on Saturday. Swingman Jarrod Molnar (190-95, college: Glendale, CA) nailed 38 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds for the winning side and forward Xavier Evans (193, college: Pfeiffer) accounted for 13 points and 16 rebounds. Jordan Geer came up with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists and power forward Luke Peynenborg (201, college: Montana Tech) added 20 points and 5 assists respectively for Cougars in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Magic maintains eighth place in League with 3-6 record. Loser Cougars keep the fourth position with four games lost. Magic will meet higher ranked Jets (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Cougars will play against the league's second-placed Devils and will have a slim chance for a victory.
