There was no surprise when 10th ranked Buccaneers (3-8) were outleveled by seventh ranked Redbacks (7-5) in Northbridge 105-83 on Sunday. Redbacks dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Buccaneers' 18. Naturalized Belgian guard Marshall Nelson (188-94, college: WBU) nailed 28 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side and swingman Tevin Jackson (202-94, college: McNeese St.) accounted for 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Redbacks players scored in double figures. Naturalized South Sudanese swingman Mathiang Muo (196-87, college: Charleston So.) came up with a double-double by scoring 44 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds and swingman Aaron Ralph (200-89) added 12 points respectively for Buccaneers in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Redbacks moved-up to fifth place in League. Loser Buccaneers dropped to the eleventh position with eight games lost. Redbacks will meet at home Suns (#9) in the next round. Buccaneers will play against Slammers and hope to secure a win.
