Not a big story in a game in Heathmont where 18th ranked Tigers (2-10) were defeated by ninth ranked Ringwood Hawks (5-5) 76-60 on Wednesday. Ringwood Hawks dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Tigers' 22. They outrebounded Tigers 60-33 including a 44-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was center Adrien Sturt (209-86, college: Snow CC) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds. Forward Matthew Fennell (196) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds. Four Ringwood Hawks players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Anthony Karabatsos (188, college: Seton Hill) who recorded 17 points and 6 rebounds and forward Felix Von Hofe (196-93, college: EWU) added 15 points respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Despite that victory Ringwood Hawks went down to twelfth position (League) due to points difference. Loser Tigers dropped to the seventeenth place with ten games lost. Ringwood Hawks will meet at home Dandenong Rangers (#15) in the next round. Tigers will play against Ballarat Miners and hope to secure a win.
