Frankston Blues (11-1) recorded its first loss in Seaford on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by sixth ranked Hawks (7-3) 73-62. Hawks made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was guard Marena Whittle (180-94, college: NDSU, agency: LBM Management) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Danni Bone (175-90) chipped in 11 points and 5 rebounds. Four Hawks players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international forward Darcee Garbin (187-94) who recorded a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds and guard Taylah Giliam (173-99) added 21 points respectively. Despite that victory Hawks went down to seventh position (League) due to points difference. Frankston Blues at the other side still keep top place with one game lost. Hawks will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Frankston Blues will play on the road against Falcons in Mount Waverley and are hoping to win this game.
