Regular Season Round 26: Willetton T. - Rockingham F. 93-79

There was a minor upset when second-ranked Flames (8-5) lost to fifth ranked Tigers (7-2) in Willetton 79-93 on Friday. Tigers made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Flames turnovers and outrebounded them 52-31 including a 31-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Tigers looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Guard Alexandra Sharp (185-97, college: Wake Forest) notched a double-double by scoring 20 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and forward Samantha Lubcke (188-96, college: Utah Valley) supported her with 25 points and 10 rebounds. Four Tigers players scored in double figures. Even 26 points and 8 rebounds by swingman Alex Ciabattoni (183-94) did not help to save the game for Flames. Swingman Christina Boag (188-91) added 8 points and 8 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tigers moved-up to fourth place in League. Loser Flames dropped to the third position with five games lost. Tigers will meet Magic (#10) in the next round where they are favorite. Flames will have a break next round.
