The game between closely ranked teams ended with eleventh ranked Magic's (4-7) road victory over bottom-ranked Slammers (0-11) in Bunbury 89-68 on Friday. Magic shot 27 for 40 from the free-throw line, while Slammers only scored eleven points from the stripe. Magic forced 33 Slammers turnovers. Forward Carly Boag (188-95, college: Minot St.) notched a double-double by scoring 15 points and 16 rebounds to lead the effort and Georgia Adams supported her with 15 points and 4 steals. Even 11 points and 9 rebounds by Cian Parsons did not help to save the game for Slammers. Zaya Black added 15 points and 6 steals for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Magic moved-up to tenth place in League. Loser Slammers still closes the standings with 11 games lost. Magic will meet at home higher ranked Tigers (#4) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Slammers will play against Cougars (#7) and hope to get finally their first victory.
