Regular Season Round 19: Albury W.B. - Diamond V.E. 83-96

Not a big story in a game in Albury where 14th ranked Bandits (4-10) were defeated by ninth ranked Diamond Valley Eagles (6-7) 96-83 on Friday. Diamond Valley Eagles forced 21 Bandits turnovers. It was a great evening for Robert Heath who led his team to a victory scoring 11 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Kenyan power forward Desmond OWili (203-88) helped adding 15 points and 8 rebounds. At the losing side American forward Sharif Watson (198-93, college: ACU) responded with 20 points and 5 rebounds and naturalized South Sudanese guard Wani Swaka (198-1) scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Despite that victory Diamond Valley Eagles went down to tenth position (League) due to points difference. Loser Bandits keep the fourteenth place with ten games lost. Diamond Valley Eagles will meet at home Knox Raiders (#12) in the next round. Bandits will play against Dandenong Rangers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
