Rather expected game when 5th ranked Rockets (7-6) lost to second ranked Sabres (11-2) in Adelaide 79-84 on Saturday. Strangely Rockets outrebounded Sabres 54-37 including a 22-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Guard Nicola Mathews (173, college: App State) notched 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and Kayla Mathews supported her with 16 points and 6 rebounds. Even a double-double of 25 points, 23 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 blocks by forward Jessica Good (186-94) did not help to save the game for Rockets. Guard Taylor Ortlepp (178-97, college: Boston Coll.) added 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the hosts. Five Sabres and four Rockets players scored in double figures. Sabres maintains second position in League with 11-2 record having just one point less than leader Frankston B. Loser Rockets keep the fifth place with six games lost. Sabres will meet at home Eagles (#4) in the next round. Rockets will play against Lions in Gawler and hope to secure a win.
