Not a big story in a game when bottom-ranked Lions (0-13) were outscored by top-ranked Tigers (13-0) in Morphett Vale 87-39 on Saturday. Tigers forced 25 Lions turnovers and outrebounded them 38-27 including 23 on the defensive glass. Forward Teige Morrell notched a double-double by scoring 29 points and 12 rebounds to lead the effort and guard Morgan Yaeger (175-98, college: Oregon) supported her with 13 points and 5 assists. Four Tigers players scored in double figures. Even 12 points and 5 rebounds by Meaza Otto did not help to save the game for Lions. Samantha Kennett added 10 points for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tigers maintains first position in League with 13-0 record. Loser Lions still closes the standings with 13 games lost. Tigers will meet Flames (#6) in the next round where they are favorite. Lions will play against Rockets (#5) and hope to get finally their first victory.
