Not a big story in a game when 5th ranked Thunder (5-6) lost to second ranked Jets (11-2) in Sunbury 67-80 on Saturday. Jets dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Thunder's 30 and made 18-of-20 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. New Zealand forward Jacinta Beckley (185-95, college: Seattle) notched 30 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and guard Courtenay Wragg (-90) supported her with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Beckley is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Jets' coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 22 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists by point guard Ellen Kett (170-94, college: Simon Fraser) did not help to save the game for Thunder. Spanish forward Ane Aldalur (178-89) added 10 points and 4 assists for the guests. Jets maintains second position in League with 11-2 record having just one point less than leader Frankston B. Loser Thunder keeps the fifth place with six games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
