Regular Season Round 19: Cockburn C. - Eastern Suns 101-71

There was a minor upset in Hamilton Hill where 10th ranked Suns (4-10) were crushed by twelfth ranked Cougars (4-9) 101-71 on Saturday. Cougars dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Suns' 38. Cougars forced 20 Suns turnovers. It was a great evening for guard Seva Chan (187-94) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points and 5 rebounds. Swingman Gavin Field (202-89, college: UWG) helped adding 21 points and 5 assists. Five Cougars players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Chris Johnson (201-90, college: UIW) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds and power forward Ryan Blanchett (203-96, college: FNU) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cougars moved-up to ninth place in League. Loser Suns dropped to the eleventh position with ten games lost. Cougars will meet Slammers (#14) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Suns will play against Eagles and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
