Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Bendigo Braves and 9th ranked Spectres had identical 6-6 record. This time Bendigo Braves used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from East Burwood 78-69 on Saturday night. It was a great evening for American forward Ray Turner (206-90, college: Texas A&M) who led his team to a victory scoring 29 points and 8 rebounds. Point guard Brennan Rymer (183, college: Azusa Pacific) helped adding 13 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Bendigo Braves' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side power forward Simon Conn (206-83, college: Gardner-Webb) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds and Thomas Wright scored 12 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Bendigo Braves maintains eighth place in League with 7-6 record. Loser Spectres dropped to the eleventh position with seven games lost. Bendigo Braves will meet Roar (#12) in the next round. Spectres will play against Eltham Wildcats and hope to secure a win.
