Regular Season Round 19: N.Adelaide R. - Sturt S. 94-90

Top ranked Sturt Sabres (11-2) recorded its second loss in Greenacres. Visitors were defeated by fifth ranked North Adelaide Rockets (7-6) 94-90. North Adelaide Rockets shot 20 for 28 from the free-throw line, while Sturt Sabres only scored two points from the stripe. North Adelaide Rockets players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Jack McVeigh (203-96, college: Nebraska) who helped to win the game recording 33 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws). International guard Sunday Dech (196-94, college: Barry) contributed with 10 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Guard Sam Daly (193-95, college: Chaminade) answered with 26 points and 5 rebounds and guard Keanu Rasmussen (185-3) added 22 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Sturt Sabres. Five North Adelaide Rockets and four Sturt Sabres players scored in double figures. Sturt Sabres' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. North Adelaide Rockets moved-up to fourth place in League. Sturt Sabres at the other side still keep top position with two games lost. North Adelaide Rockets will play against West Adelaide Bearcats (#8) in Woodville in the next round. Sturt Sabres will play on the road against Woodville Warriors (#9) in Flinders Park and hope to get back on the winning track.
