No shocking result in a game when ninth ranked Rip City (4-5) crushed bottom-ranked Roar (0-7) in Brisbane 96-69 on Saturday. Rip City forced 20 Roar turnovers and outrebounded them 56-37 including a 24-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Roar's players. Guard Jasmine Forcadilla (173-97, college: St.Mary's, CA) notched a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the effort and Carlie Smith supported her with 18 points and 16 rebounds. Five Rip City players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 26 points and 13 rebounds by forward Bride Kennedy-Hopoate (193-97, college: N.Mexico) did not help to save the game for Roar. Jaylen Cooper added 20 points for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Rip City moved-up to eighth place in League. Loser Roar still closes the standings with seven games lost. Rip City will meet higher ranked Capitals (#6) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Roar will play against Pirates (#9) in Runcorn and hopes to get finally their first victory.
