There was a surprise result when ninth ranked Lady Cobras (6-4) beat top-ranked Frankston Blues (11-3) in Seaford 76-71 on Sunday. Lady Cobras dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Frankston Blues' 34. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Lady Cobras made 10 blocks. The former international power forward Lauren Scherf (196-96) notched a double-double by scoring 27 points, 15 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 blocks to lead the effort and guard Briahna Whatman (170-94) supported her with 19 points and 6 rebounds. Even a double-double of 27 points and 10 rebounds by the former international forward Darcee Garbin (187-94) did not help to save the game for Frankston Blues. Forward Saraid Taylor (183-98) added 15 points and 8 rebounds for the hosts. Lady Cobras maintains ninth position in League with 6-4 record.
