The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked North Adelaide Rockets' (8-7) road loss to fourth ranked Central District Lions (7-8) in Gawler 84-98 on Saturday. Central District Lions shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. The winners were led by naturalized South Sudanese guard Lual Diing (203-94, college: TxWes) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 19 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and swingman David Humphries (193-91, college: LMU) supported him with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. Even 31 points and 9 rebounds by the former international forward Jack McVeigh (203-96, college: Nebraska) did not help to save the game for North Adelaide Rockets. Forward Jimma Dau (201) added 19 points and 11 rebounds for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Despite that victory Central District Lions went down to sixth position (League) due to points difference. Loser North Adelaide Rockets keep the fifth place with seven games lost. Central District Lions will meet at home Eastern Mavericks (#10) in the next round. North Adelaide Rockets will play against Mount Gambier Pioneers (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
