We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when fifth ranked Norwood Flames (8-6) crushed one of their biggest challengers Noarlunga City Southern Tigers (9-6) in Marden 116-87 on Saturday. Norwood Flames dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Noarlunga City Southern Tigers' 48. They outrebounded Noarlunga City Southern Tigers 41-25 including a 31-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Norwood Flames looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The winners were led by guard Matthew Lycett (194-90) who scored that evening 21 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and American swingman CJ Turnage (201-95, college: SVSU) supported him with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Even 24 points and 9 assists by point guard Nick Wurm (183, college: Dickinson St.) did not help to save the game for Noarlunga City Southern Tigers. Christian Artacho added 20 points for the guests. Five Norwood Flames and four Noarlunga City Southern Tigers players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Norwood Flames moved-up to fourth place in League. Loser Noarlunga City Southern Tigers dropped to the third position with six games lost. Norwood Flames will meet league's leader Sturt Sabres in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Noarlunga City Southern Tigers will have a break next round.
