Regular Season Round 20: Warwick S. - Geraldton B. 81-76
Date: July 18, 2021
Rather predictable result when seventh ranked Senators (9-5) won against 11th ranked Buccaneers (4-11) in Perth 81-76 on Sunday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Senators dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Buccaneers' 24. The winners were led by the former international forward Cody Ellis (202-90, college: St.Louis) who scored that evening 20 points and 5 assists and forward Caleb Davis (206-95, college: SVSU) supported him with 17 points and 7 rebounds. Senators' coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even 25 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists by naturalized South Sudanese swingman Mathiang Muo (196-87, college: Charleston So.) did not help to save the game for Buccaneers. Elijah Barbour added 13 points and 4 assists for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Senators moved-up to fifth place in League. Loser Buccaneers dropped to the twelfth position with 11 games lost. Senators will meet at home Eagles (#13) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Buccaneers will play against Redbacks and hope to secure a win.
