There was no surprise when 9th ranked Force (4-7) was outplayed on the road by leader Brisbane Spartans (11-0) 103-46 on Sunday. Brisbane Spartans held Force to an opponent 19.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 49.3 percent accuracy of the winners. Brisbane Spartans forced 23 Force turnovers and outrebounded them 58-29 including a 40-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Brisbane Spartans looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Force's players. The best player for the winners was Madelyn Willey who scored 24 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. New Zealand forward Kalani Purcell (188-95, college: BYU) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Brisbane Spartans players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international center Abby Bishop (189-88) who recorded 14 points and Ali Burke added 12 points and 4 assists respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Brisbane Spartans maintains second place in League with 11-0 record having just three points less than leader Frankston B. Loser Force dropped to the tenth position with seven games lost. Brisbane Spartans will meet league's leader Thunder in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Force will play against Cyclones (#14) in Rockhampton and hope to secure a win.
