Not a big story in a game when bottom-ranked Eastern Mavericks (0-15) lost to fourth ranked Noarlunga City Southern Tigers (9-6) in Morphett Vale 70-84 on Sunday. The winners were led by American forward Keouvion McCalop (203, college: Dakota Bottin.) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 13 points and 17 rebounds and point guard Nick Wurm (183, college: Dickinson St.) supported him with 15 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Five Noarlunga City Southern Tigers players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 28 points and 11 rebounds by American forward William Wise (206-92, college: Dominican, NY) did not help to save the game for Eastern Mavericks. Tom Cromarty added 8 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists for the guests. Noarlunga City Southern Tigers moved-up to third place in League. Loser Eastern Mavericks still closes the standings with 15 games lost. Noarlunga City Southern Tigers will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Eastern Mavericks will play against Central District Lions (#6) in Gawler and hope to get finally their first victory.
