There was no surprise when 13th ranked Suns (4-13) lost to second ranked Lightning (14-3) in Kalamunda 90-105 on Thursday. Lightning outrebounded Suns 43-30 including 28 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Guard Rowan Mackenzie (190-99, college: LCU) nailed 35 points (!!!) for the winning side and guard Benjamin Lee (188-94) accounted for 22 points. New Zealand guard Joe Cook-Green (185-97, college: TxWes) came up with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Jermaine Malie (185-96) added 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Suns in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Lightning keeps a position of League leader. Loser Suns keep the thirteenth place with 13 games lost. Lightning will meet Cougars (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Suns will play against Redbacks (#7) and hope to secure a win.
