There was a minor upset when 6th ranked Senators (10-6) were edged by ninth ranked Cougars (7-9) in Hamilton Hill 104-102 on Friday. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Cougars made 7 blocks. Naturalized Greek swingman Nic Pozoglou (196-96) nailed a double-double by scoring 24 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winning side and swingman Gavin Field (202-89, college: UWG) accounted for 25 points and 8 rebounds. Cougars' coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. American guard Justin King (196-89, college: TRU) came up with 27 points and 8 rebounds and forward Caleb Davis (206-95, college: SVSU) added 25 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Senators in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Cougars maintains ninth place in League with 7-9 record. Loser Senators dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. Cougars will meet at home league's leader Lightning in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Senators will play against Buccaneers (#10) in Wonthella and hope to secure a win.
