Date: July 24, 2021
Very predictable result when sixth ranked Senators (10-6) rolled over 12th ranked Eagles (4-13) in Perth 112-70 on Saturday. Senators dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Eagles' 32. Senators forced 31 Eagles turnovers and outrebounded them 46-33 including a 20-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Eagles' players. Forward Caleb Davis (206-95, college: SVSU) nailed a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and point guard Ethan Elliott (183-4) accounted for 21 points and 5 assists. Five Senators players scored in double figures. American power forward Lee Roberts (203-87, college: Findlay, OH) came up with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 15 rebounds and forward Andrej Donlagic (197-97) added 15 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Eagles in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Senators moved-up to fifth place in League. Loser Eagles keep the twelfth position with 13 games lost. Senators will meet Buccaneers (#10) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Eagles will play against the league's second-placed Hawks in Floreat and hope to secure a win.
