Very expected game in Cheltenham where 12th ranked Sabres (4-7) were defeated by first ranked Frankston Blues (12-3) 75-62 on Sunday. Frankston Blues had a 39-25 advantage in offensive rebounds. The former international forward Darcee Garbin (187-94) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and Ella Batish chipped in 15 points and 9 rebounds. Point guard Amy ONeill (168-96, college: SFC) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Lucy Burke (183, college: WT) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. Five Sabres players scored in double figures. Sabres' coach tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Frankston Blues maintains first place in League with 12-3 record. Loser Sabres keep the twelfth position with seven games lost. Frankston Blues will meet Tigers (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Sabres will play against Hawks (#6) and hope to secure a win.
