Rather predictable result in North Lake where second ranked Lightning (16-4) defeated 5th ranked Redbacks (12-8) 112-96 on Saturday. Lightning shot the lights out from three sinking 21 long-distance shots on high 55.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. The best player for the winners was guard Rowan Mackenzie (190-99, college: LCU) who scored 22 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. American guard Jack Isenbarger (188-91, college: Elon) chipped in 22 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Lightning's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Swingman Tevin Jackson (202-94, college: McNeese St.) produced 27 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and naturalized Belgian guard Marshall Nelson (188-94, college: WBU) added 23 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists respectively for the guests. Five Lightning and four Redbacks players scored in double figures. Lightning maintains second place in League with 16-4 record despite having the same number of points like the leader Perry Lakes H. Loser Redbacks keep the fifth position with eight games lost. Lightning will meet Magic (#4) in the next round. Redbacks will play against Giants and hope to secure a win.
