Regular Season Round 24: Norwood F. - C.District L. 107-89

There was no surprise in Marden where 5th ranked Central District Lions (8-9) were defeated by third ranked Norwood Flames (10-6) 107-89 on Saturday. Norwood Flames dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Central District Lions' 42. Norwood Flames had a 33-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Central District Lions' players. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman CJ Turnage (201-95, college: SVSU) who helped to win the game recording 35 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Raymond Harding (198, college: Southeast CC) who added 24 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Shaquille Maharaj (196, college: Camosun) with 39 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds and naturalized South Sudanese guard Lual Diing (203-94, college: TxWes) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Norwood Flames maintains third position in League with 10-6 record having fourteen points less than leader Perry Lakes H. Loser Central District Lions dropped to the sixth place with nine games lost.
