New Zealand Breakers can celebrate finally their first win this season after six consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Brisbane, where they defeated Bullets (2-3) 88-83 on Sunday. New Zealand Breakers made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Bullets turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was New Zealand forward Yannick Wetzell (208-96, college: SDSU) who scored 27 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. American point guard Jeremiah Martin (190-96, college: Memphis) chipped in 10 points and 8 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was international guard Nathan Sobey (190-90, college: Wyoming) who recorded 14 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and American swingman Lamar Patterson (196-91, college: Pittsburgh) added 17 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Four New Zealand Breakers and five Bullets players scored in double figures. Bullets' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. It was the only win of guest team this round and in all other games host teams recorded victories. New Zealand Breakers maintains tenth position with 1-6 record. Bullets at the other side dropped to the seventh place with three games lost. They share the position with Adelaide. New Zealand Breakers are looking forward to face higher ranked Kings (#5) in Sydney in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
