Regular Season Round 7: Sydney - NZL Breakers 75-82

There was an upset when higher ranked Kings (3-5) lost to bottom-ranked New Zealand Breakers (2-7) in Sydney 75-82 on Sunday. It was an exceptional evening for New Zealand-Irish forward Finn Delany (198-95, college: SW Baptist) who led the winners and scored 21 points and 9 rebounds. American point guard Jeremiah Martin (190-96, college: Memphis) accounted for 22 points and 4 assists for the winning side. Forward Xavier Cooks (203-95, college: Winthrop) came up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds and naturalized Canadian guard Dejan Vasiljevic (190-97, college: Miami, FL) added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Kings in the defeat. Five New Zealand Breakers and four Kings players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. New Zealand Breakers maintains tenth place with 2-7 record. Kings lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. New Zealand Breakers will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kings will play again against New Zealand Breakers (#10) and hope to secure a win.
