Host Adelaide Lightning was defeated by Bendigo Spirit in Adelaide 74-62. Bendigo Spirit outrebounded Adelaide Lightning 52-35 including a 21-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Anneli Maley (187-98, college: TCU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points and 21 rebounds and the former international guard Madeleine Garrick (178-92) who added 17 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Chelsea Brook (188-98) with 16 points and 5 rebounds and American forward Kylee Shook (193-98, college: Louisville) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. Bendigo Spirit maintains seventh position with 2-7 record. Adelaide Lightning at the other side dropped to the fourth place with three games lost. Bendigo Spirit will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Adelaide Lightning will play again on the road against Bendigo Spirit (#7) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
