Regular Season Round 10: Melbourne - Tasmania JJ 85-94
Date: February 6, 2022
The most surprising game was another loss of top-ranked United (8-4) in Melbourne on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by sixth ranked JackJumpers (6-6) 94-85. JackJumpers made 26-of-30 free shots (86.7 percent) during the game. 25 personal fouls committed by United helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Josh Adams (188-93, college: Wyoming) who helped to win the game recording 16 points. The other American import point guard Josh Magette (185-89, college: UAH) contributed with 11 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Four JackJumpers players scored in double figures. JackJumpers' coach Scott Roth used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Naturalized Sudanese center Jo Lual-Acuil Jr (213-94, college: Baylor) replied with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 21 rebounds and the former international guard Chris Goulding (192-88) added 29 points in the effort for United. JackJumpers have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Illawarra. Defending champion United dropped to the second position with four games lost. JackJumpers will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. United will play at home against Adelaide 36ers and is hoping to win this game.
