An interesting game for Perth Lynx (6-2) which played road game in Melbourne against second-best Boomers (7-4). Third ranked Perth Lynx managed to get a 5-point victory 76-71. The winners were led by the former international power forward Lauren Scherf (196-96) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 19 points and 18 rebounds and American point guard Jackie Young (183-97, college: Notre Dame) supported her with 26 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Even 17 points and 5 rebounds by American point guard Lindsay Allen (173-95, college: Notre Dame) did not help to save the game for Boomers. New Zealand forward Penina Davidson (190-95, college: California) added 13 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks. Four Boomers players scored in double figures. Perth Lynx have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 6-2 record behind leader Canberra. Loser Boomers keep the second place with four games lost.
