There was a minor upset in Brisbane where their close opponent Adelaide 36ers (4-7) were defeated by seventh ranked Bullets (5-8) 77-73 on Friday. Bullets looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American swingman Lamar Patterson (196-91, college: Pittsburgh) who scored 32 points, 6 assists and 5 steals. His fellow American import forward Robert Franks (203-96, college: WSU) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. The former international power forward Daniel Johnson (212-88, college: Pepperdine) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international forward Cameron Bairstow (206-90, college: N.Mexico) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four Adelaide 36ers players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Bullets maintains seventh place with 5-8 record. Loser Adelaide 36ers dropped to the eighth position with seven games lost. Bullets will meet higher ranked Kings (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Adelaide 36ers will have a break next round.
