Date: February 12, 2022
Round 11 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Perth Wildcats (8-4). They were defeated by second ranked United (9-4) 93-87 on Saturday night. It was a key game for the top position in the league. United outrebounded Perth Wildcats 47-35 including 32 on the defensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when United made 7 blocks. It was a great evening for naturalized Sudanese center Jo Lual-Acuil Jr (213-94, college: Baylor) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks. Nigerian-Canadian guard Caleb Agada (196-94, college: Ottawa, agency: Pensack Sports) helped adding 15 points and 13 rebounds. Five United players scored in double figures. American guard Bryce Cotton (182-92, college: Providence, agency: Pensack Sports) responded with 31 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and the former international guard Mitch Norton (184-93) scored 21 points and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader. Perth Wildcats at the other side dropped to the second place with four games lost. They share the position with SE Melbourne. They were replaced at the leadership position by Melbourne. Perth Wildcats will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest and make it back to the top of the standings. United will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Illawarra Hawks in Gwynneville.
