Very predictable result in Melbourne where second ranked Boomers (8-4) defeated bottom-ranked Sydney Uni Flames (1-10) 85-76 on Sunday. American point guard Tiffany Mitchell (175-1994, college: S.Carolina) fired 21 points for the winners. International center Eziyoda Magbegor (193-1999) chipped in 17 points and 9 rebounds. Four Boomers players scored in double figures. The former international point guard Shyla Heal (167-2001) produced 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international forward Keely Froling (188-1996, college: SMU) added 24 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Boomers maintains second place with 8-4 record behind leader Canberra.
