Regular Season Round 14: Tasmania JJ - NZL Breakers 66-62
Date: March 5, 2022
Not a big story in a game in Hobart where 10th ranked New Zealand Breakers (5-15) were defeated by sixth ranked JackJumpers (10-10) 66-62 on Saturday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. JackJumpers made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was Canadian forward Mikyle McIntosh (201-1994, college: Oregon) who scored 21 points. The former international guard Jarrad Weeks (185-1989) chipped in 9 points and 5 rebounds. JackJumpers' coach Scott Roth used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. French swingman Ousmane Dieng (201-2003) produced 17 points and 9 rebounds and American guard Chasson Randle (188-1993, college: Stanford) added 18 points respectively for the guests. JackJumpers have a solid three-game winning streak. Newly promoted JackJumpers maintains sixth position with 10-10 record. Loser New Zealand Breakers stay at the bottom place with 15 games lost. JackJumpers will meet at home higher ranked Illawarra Hawks (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. New Zealand Breakers will play against the league's second-placed Perth Wildcats (#2) and hope to secure a win.
