Canberra Capitals smashed Southside Flyers 106-64 on Saturday. Canberra Capitals dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Southside Flyers' 42. Canberra Capitals forced 26 Southside Flyers turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American point guard Brittney Sykes (175-1994, college: Syracuse) who led the winners and scored 24 points, 5 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals. The former international power forward Kelsey Griffin (188-1987, college: Nebraska) accounted for 20 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Five Canberra Capitals players scored in double figures. The former international forward Sara Blicavs (189-1993) came up with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds and the former international point guard Maddison Rocci (169-1998) added 16 points and 6 assists respectively for Southside Flyers in the defeat.
