Regular Season Round 15: Cairns - Tasmania JJ 69-85

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Cairns Taipans (4-12) were defeated at home by sixth ranked JackJumpers (10-9) 85-69 on Friday. It was a great evening for American guard Josh Adams (188-1993, college: Wyoming) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Fabijan Krslovic (203-1995, college: Montana) helped adding 13 points and 5 rebounds. Four JackJumpers players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American center Stephen Zimmerman (211-1996, college: UNLV) with 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and Brazilian-American guard Scott Machado (185-1990, college: Iona) scored 7 points and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for JackJumpers. Newly promoted JackJumpers maintains sixth place with 10-9 record. Cairns Taipans lost their fourth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. JackJumpers will meet at home higher ranked Illawarra Hawks (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Cairns Taipans will play against Bullets (#7) in Brisbane and hope to secure a win.
