Regular Season Round 17: Perth - Sydney 80-102
Date: March 26, 2022
We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when third ranked Kings (14-7) smashed on the road second-ranked Perth Wildcats (14-8) 102-80 on Saturday. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Kings outrebounded Perth Wildcats 46-35 including a 36-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American point guard Jaylen Adams (188-1996, college: St.Bonaventure) who scored 20 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Naturalized Kenyan power forward Makur Maker (212-2000, college: Howard) chipped in 15 points and 9 rebounds. Five Kings players scored in double figures. Swingman Luke Travers (200-2001) produced 20 points and 8 rebounds and American forward Victor Law (201-1995, college: Northwestern, agency: Pensack Sports) added 16 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kings have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Loser Perth Wildcats dropped to the third position with eight games lost. They share it with Illawarra. Kings will meet at home Adelaide 36ers (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Perth Wildcats will have a break next round.
