There was a minor upset in Findon where 6th ranked Melbourne Phoenix (11-10) was defeated by eighth ranked Adelaide 36ers (7-13) 100-92 on Sunday. Adelaide 36ers made 24-of-31 free shots (77.4 percent) during the game. Adelaide 36ers had a 28-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Daniel Johnson (212-1988, college: Pepperdine) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds. The former international guard Sunday Dech (195-1994, college: Barry) chipped in 21 points and 5 rebounds. Five Adelaide 36ers players scored in double figures. The former international swingman Mitch Creek (196-1992) produced a double-double by scoring 27 points and 12 rebounds and American guard Xavier Munford (193-1992, college: URI) added 24 points respectively for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Adelaide 36ers maintains eighth place with 7-13 record. Melbourne Phoenix lost fifth consecutive game.
