But Hawks were not able to use a home court advantage and were edged by the opponent from Sutherland 87-85 on Saturday night. It was an exceptional evening for guard Lochlan Hutchison (188-1999, agency: BIG) who led the winners and scored 28 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Geoffrey Gerlach accounted for 17 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side. The former international forward Lucas Walker (202-1984, college: St.Mary's, CA) came up with 27 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and power forward Fletcher Macdonald (203-2003) added 13 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists respectively for Hawks in the defeat. Five Hawks players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Sutherland Sharks will meet Canberra Gunners on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Hawks will play against Bandits (#1) in Albury and look forward to get finally their first victory.
