Very expected game in Albury where 11th ranked Hawks (1-2) were defeated by top-ranked Bandits (2-0) 101-93 on Saturday. Bandits made 24-of-29 free shots (82.8 percent) during the game. Center Duom Dawam (208) fired 31 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American swingman Branden Jenkins (196-1994, college: TxWes) chipped in 26 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals. Worth to mention Jenkins played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped get the job in pro basketball. Four Bandits players scored in double figures. Keyondrei Gardner produced 33 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and the former international forward Lucas Walker (202-1984, college: St.Mary's, CA) added 27 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Despite that victory Bandits went down to second position (League) due to points difference. Loser Hawks dropped to the tenth place with two games lost. Bandits will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Hawks will play against Canberra Gunners (#3) and hope to win that game.
