Regular Season Round 4: Rockingham F. - Mandurah M. 90-84

There was a minor upset in Rockingham where their close opponent Magic (0-2) was defeated by top-ranked Flames (1-0) 90-84 on Saturday. Flames made 22-of-25 free shots (88.0 percent) during the game. Naturalized American guard Marshall Nelson (184-1994, college: WBU) fired 30 points (made all of his ten free throws !!!) for the winners. The former international center Tom Jervis (211-1987, college: Troy) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds. American forward Ray Turner (206-1990, college: Texas A&M) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 17 rebounds and his fellow American import swingman Jay Bowie (196-1992, college: Marist) added 15 points respectively for lost side. Four Magic players scored in double figures. Magic's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Flames left bottom position moving up to seventh place in League. Loser Magic still closes the standings with two games lost. Flames will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Magic will play against the league's leader Buccaneers (#1) having rather not much hope for a victory.
