Regular Season Round 5: Wyndham D. - Sunbury J. 106-61
Date: April 9, 2022
Everything could happen in Werribee at the game between two tied teams. Both fifth ranked Devils and 6th ranked Jets had identical 2-2 record. This time Devils used a home court advantage and outleveled the opponent from Sunbury 106-61 on Saturday night. Devils forced 24 Jets turnovers and outrebounded them 48-32 including a 21-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American swingman Lauren Jones (178-2003, college: Austin Peay) who scored 17 points and 6 rebounds. Her fellow American import guard Amanda Paschal (170-1996, college: Kentucky, agency: DC Sports) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds. Paschal is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Devils players scored in double figures. Swedish guard Ida Andersson (173-1996, college: Barry) produced 15 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and Emily Conn added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Devils (3-2) moved-up to third place in League. Loser Jets keep the sixth position with three games lost. Devils will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Jets will play against Gulls (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
