Regular Season Round 19: Adelaide - Sydney 77-84
Date: April 9, 2022
No shocking result in a game when third ranked Kings (16-7) beat 9th ranked Adelaide 36ers (7-17) in Findon 84-77 on Saturday. It was an exceptional evening for forward Xavier Cooks (203-1995, college: Winthrop) who led the winners and scored 22 points and 9 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Naturalized Canadian guard Dejan Vasiljevic (190-1997, college: Miami, FL) accounted for 15 points for the winning side. Four Kings players scored in double figures. Kings' coach Chase Buford used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international power forward Daniel Johnson (212-1988, college: Pepperdine) came up with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and New Zealand forward Hyrum Harris (198-1996, college: Umpqua CC) added 10 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Adelaide 36ers in the defeat. Kings have an impressive series of eleven victories in a row. They maintain third place with 16-7 record having 2 victories less than leader Melbourne. Adelaide 36ers lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 17 games lost. Kings will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Adelaide 36ers will play against New Zealand Breakers (#10) in Auckland and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
